To regard him as father is to go a step further. Ideally a father is one in your life who provides and protects. That is exactly what God has done.

Tragically, some people believe they are going to heaven when they die just because a few drops of water were sprinkled over their heads a few weeks after their birth. They have no personal faith, have never made a personal decision, and are banking on a hollow ceremony to save them. How absurd!

We learn brevity from Jesus. His greatest sermon can be read in eight minutes. His best-known story can be read in ninety seconds. He summarized prayer in five phrases. He silenced accusers with one challenge. He rescued a soul with one sentence. He summarized the Law in three verses and reduced all his teachings to one command. He made his point and went home.

God has a great race for you to run. Under his care you will go where you've never been and serve in ways you've never dreamed.

To wait, biblically speaking, is not to assume the worst, worry, make demands, or take control. Nor is waiting doing nothing. It is a sustained effort to stay focused on God through prayer and belief. To wait is to "rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him" (Psalm 37:7).

People are watching the way we act more than they are listening to what we say.

To see the despair without the grace is suicidal. To see the grace without the despair is upper room futility. But to see them both is conversion.
